Standard Cover Lifter
The standard Ultralift Series Cover Lifter allows the lid opening to be adjusted to customer preference: a high lid position provides greater privacy while a low lid position provides an unobstructed view. By installing the mounting brackets higher on the sides of the spa, your cover will give you more privacy, while by installing them lower on the sides of the spa or on your deck, the cover can be stored behind the spa.

Hydraulic Cover Lifter
The Hydraulic Cover Lifter features gas cylinders making it easy to open and close a spa cover. These gas cylinders counterbalance the weight of the cover, making using the spa pleasant and safe.
The device also makes it easier to close the cover securely and in the optimal position, thereby reducing heat loss from the spa.

The product itself is exactly what i expected and might even fit better than the original. the skirt is tight around the edges and no vapour is leaking out at all. It even has a center insulation piece that my original didn't.
